Q4 2021 ACCESS Newsletter

Updated: Mar 11, 2022

THE WORK OF ACCESS

ACCESS is the largest provider of temporary housing in Ashland County. We are a coalition Christian churches providing safe, temporary shelter, meals and compassionate assistance to homeless Ashland County women and families

HELPING CHURCHES

Churches can help by being a host church and through financial support. Our list of host churches for 2021 are: Ashland Christen Church, Christ UMC, Church of the Nazarene, First UMC, Grace Church, Ignite Ministry, Paradise Hill UMC, St. Edward Catholic Church, Trinity Lutheran Church and Zion Lutheran

ACCESS provided shelter for homeless women and families throughout the pandemic, while practicing all CDC safety practices and protocols. In 2020, we served 26 family units made up of 31 adults and 29 children. In 2021, ACCESS served 26 family units made up of a total of 60 people (32 adults and 28 children).

ACCESS TRANSITIONAL HOUSING

ACCESS has two Transitional Apartments, which are funded from the Trinity Lutheran Outreach grant. ACCESS guests who have successfully found employment have also completed their ACCESS goals. They must reimburse ACCESS for part of the rent and can thereby begin to establish a good rental history.
